Georgetown, Penang (Malaysia)

We actually went there for the World Music festival, which was… interesting. The rest of the town was worth it though.

Bukit Tinggi ou La Colmar Tropicale

A little fake like a small Disneyland, Bukit Tinggi is actually quite close to the maisons à colombages that we find in Alsace. Legend has it that the King went to France for his honeymoon and him and his wife liked it so much that they decided to recreate the town of Colmar in Malaysia. Yes it basically is the same… with 30°C more.

We had a nice lunch there. Nice white wine, fresh fish, purée…pretty French, except they still had to put some soya beans in there, they could not help it.

Giant spider! That, you certainly cannot find in Alsace!

and finally…the Petronas towers, my friends!

Well you can just make your own idea of it, but let’s say it is definitely not my favourite spot in KL. The thing I liked is that the bridge in the middle of the two towers is actually an emergency exit in case of fire, to get out from the other tower. That’s cool. Oh and the lift was super fast.
